Jesse White Announces Military Plates Now Available in
Vanity and Personalized Formats

Illinois Secretary of State Jesse White announced today that Illinois veterans can now order military license plates in vanity and personalized license plates. Those license plates were previously only available with numeric characters, but now they are available in letter (vanity) or letter and number combinations (personalized).

“This is a small token of appreciation that we can extend to our military service men and women who have given so much for our country,” said White. “Veterans are real heroes, and I am proud to make available military plates in vanity and personalized formats.”

Veterans that currently have license plates that do not expire within 90 days may switch to a vanity or personalized military plate for $29. There is no additional fee for a vanity or personalized military license plates and no additional fee at renewal.

The following military license plates are now available in vanity and personalized formats:

Afghanistan Campaign
Armed Forces Reserves
Bronze Star
Disabled Veteran
Ex-Prisoner of War
Gold Star
Illinois National Guard
Iraq Campaign
Korean War Veteran
Pearl Harbor
Purple Heart
Retired Armed Forces
Silver Star
US Marine Corps
Universal Veteran
Universal Veteran (Motorcycle)
Vietnam Veteran
World War II Veteran

Veterans that have current military license plates and wish to switch to a vanity or personalized license plate may call 217-785-4175 or visit the office’s website site at www.cyberdriveillinois.com.
